Welcome to my travel diary
April 24th 2008 23:43
I'm blessed with the travel bug and think nothing of taking large chunks of time off to explore the world. I honestly feel that travel broadens your horizons, allows you to learn more about yourself as you experience other cultures and environments and always confirms for me that Sydney is the best city in the world to reside.
For me, travel means an adventurous spirit, keeping a journal and continually returning home with an oversize suitcase. I am the first to admit I'm a terrible suitcase packer - I like to have options but often return home having not worn several outfits!
For me, travel doesn't mean learning a new language - especially if you do not have an aptitude for languages (I don't). Although a few helpful phases come in handy, such as hello and too expensive. Travel doesn't mean slumming it either - my years of budget travel have long gone, life is to be experienced not roadblocked by counting pennies!
2008 is a big year for me...so far I've been fortunate enough to visit Melbourne, Hunter Valley and Vietnam. Upcoming trips include France, Italy, Croatia and the US.
I have heaps of stories to tell, tips & hints to share and plenty of photos from my travels. After years of imparting this information, advice and suggestions to my family & friends I'm ready to make it available to you, fellow travellers.
Enjoy the posts and if you are compelled to leave a comment I look forward to reading and responding to them.

Welcome to Orble.
I think Sydney is one of the best places in the world to live, but my favourite is San Francisco. Then again, I haven't been to London yet (I'll be there in a month's time). Paris is pretty fantastic too.
I went to southern Italy and Barcelona early this year, and am planning to go to London and around, Paris and around and Bulgaria in a month, which I'll be writing about on postmoderncritic.com... (If you're interested/have time, check out my accounts of Italy and Barcelona on the same site.) I actually have a separate travel blog myself, but I'm finding it easier to post in my main blog, PmC.
I'm at a stage in my life where I can only afford budget travel, or whatever my parents insist I must take up to feel safe and well catered for. I usually stay in hostels and eat cheap when I travel on my own, and I actually like the hostels because I tend to meet interesting people in them.
Where in France, Italy, Croatia and the US do you plan to go?
